THE DAVID DUNLAP OBSERVATORY AND ITS INFLUENCE ON POPULAR CULTURE

You may be interested to know, the David Dunlap Observatory has actually contributed a great deal to the world of science fiction and popular culture, more than you might realize.

THE MASTER PLAN FOR THE PARK HAS BEEN APPROVED AND IT IS OUT OF THIS WORLD

A community without nature and green space only adds to urban city sprawl. To truly feel like home, a community needs trees, grasses, and shrubs. For life to be enjoyed and lived to the fullest, life needs to occupy that space in abundance. That is why we’re so ecstatic that The David Dunlap Observatory Park Master Plan has been fully approved. Before you read, check out the video below, and see what life could be like when you live at Observatory Hill.

DDO Park is set to receive the full amount of attention it deserves. The comprehensive plan for the Park includes a complete revitalization of the natural flora species, trails and walking paths. It’s also set to receive a complete restoration and preservation of the existing wide, natural areas in the park, as well as four-season attractions like the Elvis Stojko skating arena, the skating trail, tennis courts, a conservatory, and a 360° planetarium where kids and adults alike can experience the wonders of the universe.

But that’s not all! In addition to those staggeringly incredible community features, the DDO Park will also include a fully-equipped natural playground for kids, a central fountain plaza in front of the Observatory boasting scenic views, and a great lawn with a picnic area for those beautiful sunny days.

Even more impressive are the signature amenities provided. One such unique feature is what’s known as a Star Path. This is a concrete path that actually glows in the dark! Walking it on a clear night is a vastly singular experience. This Star Path is designed not only to instill a magical sense of wonder to all, but it also provides enough illumination by which to see.

For all the nature enthusiasts out there, the DDO Park has plenty for you as well! You can visit the Elms Lea Visitors Centre, placed next to the Community Apple Orchard. Or you can take a walk through the Wildlife Corridor to the Wildlife Refuge, and be surrounded by the gorgeous splendour of nature.

When you decide to call this master-planned community home, all of these breathtaking community features will be yours to enjoy. Even if you were to search the galaxy for a comparable development, old age and time would find you before your search ended. Like Halley’s Comet, Observatory Hill is truly a once in a lifetime experience.

We’re releasing new updates and information all the time, so be sure to register and stay informed with all the latest news!
