How to transform your home to suit your hobbies

Your home should reflect your personal taste and activities. Learn how to create the perfect place for your favourite ways to have fun in our blog.

AN ENDLESS EXPANSE OF AMENITIES

When it was first constructed in 1935, the David Dunlap Observatory of Richmond Hill was a marvel of science and engineering. Even to this day it has the third-largest telescope in the world and represents the breadth of humanity’s unending curiosity. For generations, astronomers have gazed out into the far reaches of the universe, discerning the unknown and trying to make sense of the infinite space that surrounds us. It is this sense of grandeur that Observatory Hill has used as inspiration to deliver a selection of amenities that are simply out of this world.

Before the project reaches completion this inspired community will include some truly stellar features and amenities. One such example will be the nearby Planetarium where kids and adults alike can learn about the wonders of our universe. Unlike any other location in the world, residents of Observatory Hill will live within steps of a place where they can learn about astronomy, as well as the place where some of those discoveries were first made.

Following this astronomical trend, there is also a Star Path scheduled for construction. A Star Path is a walking path made of specially designed glow-in-the-dark concrete. Residents will be able to experience the majesty of taking a moonlit stroll while starlight sparkles both above and below them.

There’s also great news for parents with young kids, as a Splash Pad is planned to be included in the community! On those hot summer days when not even the A/C can subdue the sweltering humidity, you’ll be able to take the kids (and yourself) to cool off with refreshing blasts of water.

And if you love getting out into nature for some low-intensity exercise, you’ll love to explore the extensive trails offered by the new park. Visitors can engage in walking, hiking, and cycling all day long. In fact, the very largest portion of the Park has been reserved for this purpose. This means that almost an entire forest and all of its associated beauty will be yours to discover at your heart’s content. Truly, Observatory Hill and the DDO Park were designed in concert with one another to provide a community and living experience like no other. Built with total sustainability in mind, these woodland paths will always lead you to an amazing experience.

In addition to these fun and entertaining amenities Observatory Hill residents will also get to enjoy a brand new Amphitheater which will host theatrical plays and musical performances. However, if that doesn’t tickle your fancy you can also play a game of tennis, go ice skating, enjoy a picnic, or take a walk in the newly revitalized park area.

What’s more, a substantial portion of the natural area in the DDO Park will remain untouched by development to allow the local wildlife to flourish. Two wetland areas will be created, one in the southwest region of the park, and one in the east. This will provide extra support for the ecosystem and wildlife in the area and help to ensure that the DDO Park will be enjoyed by lovers of nature for generations to come.

Also, imagine getting to experience the splendour of nature at any time. Part of the plan for the DDO Park is The Conservatory. It is planned to feature a whole host of beautiful flora species to be enjoyed in a warm indoor environment. Come rain or shine, sleet or snow, it will remain a garden paradise for all to enjoy.

When this new community in Richmond Hill is your home, you won’t ever feel a lack of fun or convenience. From green space to outer space, Observatory Hill has it all.
